AvData Systems (now ITC^DeltaCom)
Challenge
The CEO of AvData Systems, a network management company now part of ITC^DeltaCom, wanted a consistent, efficient way to evaluate the viability of new product ideas, then take the most profitable ones through a standard business process from conception to launch – with buy-in from all departments.

Our Solution
We helped the client form a cross-functional team called the PRIDE (PRoduct Introduction and DEvelopment) team. Then we facilitated a three-month effort that guided the team through the development of an integrated (and repeatable) product delivery process.

Results
The team developed and documented a ten-step PRIDE process complete with sample documents and forms that required approvals and buy-in from all functional areas before a new product could be evaluated, developed and launched. The process was so well received that it was used over and over for all new product ideas. Using this process reduced inter-departmental conflict, improved company productivity and ensured the development of only the most profitable product ideas.

This national provider of e-payment solutions to local, state and federal government agencies needed to better quantify the value, benefits and savings enjoyed by agencies, then flow that information into sales and marketing materials.

Our Solution
We conducted primary and secondary research to gather ROI data and metrics from client experiences and industry sources that quantified
e-payment benefits and savings. Then we provided an in-depth ROI Report and revamped the sales presentation to reflect new value statements with a focus on benefits.

Results
The client has a well-documented ROI analysis full of reusable metrics that will enhance its sales tools, marketing materials and public relations efforts and help position its product line ahead of the competition. Harbinger Corp. (now Inovis)
Challenge
The Director of Product Management at Harbinger Corporation had an urgent need to launch a new Windows-based, business-to-business EDI product yet did not have the in-house product management resources or launch process to meet his commitments.

Our Solution
We formed a launch team, then developed and documented Beta Test and launch processes. By facilitating weekly launch meetings, updating the launch plan and process, and resolving unexpected issues, we met our launch goals. We also developed product messaging and positioning, value statements, Beta references, sales tools, collateral and media kits. We provided a proven launch model for future use.

Results
The client had a successful Beta Test with five referencable clients, and the product launched on time with marketing materials, sales training and public relations efforts to support the launch. Harbinger continued to use the well-documented, reusable launch checklist and process.
